Really cool old Kay Vanguard. Mostly original, but it was missing the vibrato bar, nut, cover, and the truss rod cover. Mainly needed a good cleaning an going through. Below are the before shots and pics from the disassembly during cleaning. The electronics are all original and in great shape, just in dire need of a cleaning. The pot codes date this one to 1966.
2024-02-28: Fully clean and polish. Went through and cleaned all of the electronics. I made a new truss rod cover with a parchment cream pickguard material to match the aged white guard. Ordered a correct m4 nut for the vibrato and a 5mm push in arm to adapt to fit as I have been unable to locate original replacements.
