The DOD FX-17 can do triple duty as a Wah pedal, volume pedal or as a 0 to +5 voltage controller pedal. Unlike a traditional wah, there is no gear or pot and unlike the Morley wah's there is no LDR. DOD achieved their wah effect using variable capacitance. A grounded plate fixed to the treadle that moves beside a mylar coated circuit creating a foot controlled variable capacitor.
