The legendary "oil can" echo or Adineko Memory System from Tel-Ray. They used the "oil can" in several different devices, licensing the technology to Fender, Gibson and several other manufacturers. This particular Tel-Ray unit was meant to simulate a leslie, hence the name "Organ Tone". In fact as this leslie simulator evolved they picked a new name for the device a Rotating Sound pedal "Morley", which became the first pedal and the new company name.
Basically these and the were one of the first tape-less echo systems. Unlinke the tape echo systems which use tape heads to write information on to tape or a rotating drum, these units use a rotating disk, conductive rubber wiper, and an electrolytic oil to create a crude capacitance type of storage. Make no mistake, it's a capacitance recorder and without the oil it will not work. These units definitely have a unique sound all their own.
